Steven Tyler: I’m Quitting American Idol

Steven Tyler says bye, bye to American Idol.

After holding the role of a judge for two seasons, the Aerosmith front-man is quitting the show with no intentions of coming back.

Steven Tyler Quitting American Idol

Steven Tyler: He won't return to the judge's table of American Idol.

Here is the statement that the 64-year-old rock star has issued regarding his departing the singing competition:

“After some long … hard … thoughts … I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress ‘American Idol’ before she boils my rabbit.”

If what Tyler’s said sounds familiar, it’s because he used a reference to the film Fatal Attraction, in which a messed-up woman kills her lover’s daughter’s pet rabbit.

But that’s not all, he went on saying:

“I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I’m back — but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I’ve got two fists in the air and I’m kicking the door open with my band. The next few years are going to be dedicated to kicking some serious ass — the ultimate in auditory takeover … On Nov. 6, we are unleashing our new album, Music from Another Dimension on the Earth, Moon, Mars, and way beyond the stars … “Idol” was over-the-top fun, and I loved every minute of it … Now it’s time to bring Rock Back. ERMAHGERD.”

We’re not happy to see him go, but he gotta do what’s best for him. The good thing though, is that he’s not retiring, but on contrary, he is ready to do “kick the door open” with his band.

Steven Tylor is getting back where he belongs, among his Aerosmith mates.
